Energy scheme is a hot topic already

A £70,000 scheme offering free insulation to older people has already attracted more than 500 responses.
Malvern Hills District Council is working with Warmer Worcestershire and Act on Energy to offer households where someone is 60 or older and the energy efficiency rating is low the chance to have loft and cavity wall insulation installed for free.
Up to a third of heat is lost through the roof and walls, and MHDC says the scheme could bring residents savings of £250 a year.
The funding is limited and is being allocated on a firstcome, first-served basis, so the council is urging anyone eligible to apply now to avoid missing out.
