New group is for ladies of any age

A NEWLY-formed Women’s Institute near Malvern hopes to provide a friendly and sociable atmosphere for ladies of any age to meet.
The Welland WI meets on the third Monday of the month in Welland Village Hall at 7.30pm and is calling for women to attend a free session on Monday, February 20, to see if they want to join the group.
The WI plays a unique role in providing women with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain different types of knowledge in an enjoyable way.
The group’s secretary, Keren Milton, said: “We are trying to encourage younger members. The WI has this stigma that it’s for older ladies, so people think it’s not for them. We want to make it clear that it is for all sorts of people and they should come along and see if they like it. It will be a very sociable evening and we make it a get together where you can do lots of things.”
