COLWALL hairdresser Jo Ludlow has made it to the finals of two national hairdressing competitions.

Jo, who competed against hairdressers from all over the country to reach the finals, said she was "over the moon".

“To have reached the national finals in both competitions is fantastic. It’s good to have your skills recognised at such a significant level,”

Artistic director at Diva, Walwyn Road, Colwall, Jo is pleased to have her cutting, colouring and finishing skills recognised.

"To have reached the national finals in both competitions is fantastic. It's good to have your skills recognised at such a significant level," she said.

For one competition, run by the Guild of hairdressers, Jo had to send in a photograph of her work. The image she chose was selected for the finals and will now be judged alongside another nine award-winning photos for the 2006 Photo-Stylist of the Year Award.

The second competition, run by The Hairdressers Journal, is a creative one and Jo will compete live on stage alongside other finalists to cut and style a model's hair in front of judges.

The competition will take place next month at Salon International in London, the biggest hairdressing exhibition in the UK.
