A MALVERN man who pleaded guilty to six charges of theft, to fund a drug addiction while under a community order, was described at Worcester Magistrates Court as a “troubled young man”.
Aaron Coleman, aged 20, of Apple Orchard Close, was given a suspended prison sentence after stealing food, meat and razors worth more than £350 from various Malvern shops during December.
Louise Mead, prosecuting, said: “He needs money to buy drugs.
He gives individual reasons but that is the golden thread that runs through.”
Mark Lister, defending, said: “He is a troubled young man.
Now may be an opportunity to draw a line under his offending. It is a bleak outlook for Aaron if doesn’t sort his life out.”
Coleman was given a 12 week sentence suspended for 18 months, an 18-month supervision order, a nine-month drug rehabilitation order and a curfew from 7pm to 7pm until February 20.
