WORK on the reception area and displays in the visitor centre at the Elgar Birthplace Museum in Lower Broadheath began on Monday, November 7.
Although the birthplace cottage itself remains open, the visitor centre will be closed to the public until Monday, December 5.
During this time, admission prices for adults will be reduced to £4 and seniors to £3, and entry will be free for students and children.
When the centre reopens, admission prices will revert to standard levels of adults £7, seniors £6, children £3, students £4 and family £14 (two adults and up to three children).
