A THRILLING political drama depicting three days that changed the course of history forever comes to Malvern Theatres next month prior to the West End.

Ben Brown’s Three Days in May, set in May 1940, takes audiences behind the doors of 10 Downing Street at a time when giving in to Hitler was considered by some as a viable option.

Warren Clarke heads an all-star cast as new Prime Minister Winston Churchill faced with a monumental decision, which will shape the future of the free world.

Having urgently assembled the British war cabinet he is divided on whether to negotiate with Mussolini or risk escalating the battle against fascism, all set to a game of political chess between peace treaty supporters and its opponents.

Clarke, taking to the stage for the first time in more than a decade, has starred on stage, television and the big screen for more than four decades and is best known for appearing as Dalziel in 12 series of the BBC drama Dalziel and Pascoe as well as Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange.

He is joined by Robert Demeger, most recently seen in BBC 2’s The Hour, as Neville Chamberlain and Jeremy Clyde, who has starred in films such as Doctor Zhivago and The Musketeer, as Lord Halifax.

The show runs from Monday to Saturday, September 19-24, with performances each evening at 8pm and 2.30pm matinees on Wednesday and Saturday.
