AN artist who has made Malvern his home is exhibiting stunning photographs of the English countryside.

Passionate photographer Jan Sedlacek, who was born and raised in Prague in the Czech Republic, was inspired to take pictures of the Malvern Hills when he moved to the area four-and-half years ago.

Mr Sedlacek is now showcasing some head-turning work at the Malvern Theatres in Grange Road, Malvern.

The Weather, Light and English Countryside exhibition will run until February next year.

Mr Sedlacek will change the display each month, adding new pieces to keep people interested.

“I started with panoramic photography only when I moved to Malvern about four years ago,” he said.

“I was already a passionate photographer by then, but as I looked and looked I could not find photographs from other artists which represented the hills as I saw them.”

Mr Sedlacek layers single photographs to create his dramatic pictures. He also gets up early and stays out late to capture adverse weather conditions using digital cameras.

He said: “If the photograph doesn’t have the wow factor, I don’t show it or publish it.”
