Malvern Town FC was able to reflect on a successful season at its presentation evening on Friday night.

The event was held in a marquee at the club's Langland Stadium and included a meal for almost 100 people.

Chairman Paul Pallett said the club had much to celebrate, notably the senior side's third place in the Midland Alliance and promotion to the new Southern League Division One Midlands.

Part of that process has been investment in facilities at the ground.

The reserve and youth sides have also had a good year.

Mr Pallett said: "It was a very successful year, led predominantly by the first team's performance, which was very, very high quality, and the other teams were in competitive leagues."

He thanked joint sponsors Malvern Instruments and E&E Engineering, the latter's Paul Wild presented several of the awards.

Honours went to: Reserves manager's player of the year: Mike Oakes; Reserves players' player of the year: Paul Edwards; First team top scorer: Mark Owen; First team manager's player of the year: Nathan Jukes; First team players' player of the year: Craig Humphries; Club person of the year: Dot Knapper.
