A STUDENT from Malvern is among a team of walkers who will be going the length of the Hills to raise money for babies with a rare genetic condition.

Rachel Jones, who is studying at South Worcestershire College and also with the Open University, will be doing the walk in aid of DebRA, a charity which helps babies with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a genetic skin blistering disorder.

Rachel is taking part in the challenge because her sister Lisa Campbell, a student midwife at Worcestershire Hospital, launched it after encountering a baby with the condition.

"It's a good cause and I'm happy to support it," said Rachel.

Lisa said: "I came across DebRA after caring for a baby born with the most severe form of EB, he was not expected to survive infancy. DebRA provided a specialist nurse who provided the equipment and support needed to care for the baby."

The walk is on June 26,and will be an end-to-end walk of about 15km. To sponsor, visit justgiving.com/Lisa-Campbell1. Anyone interested in taking part should contact lisa.h.j@hotmail.co.uk.
