ROTARIAN Bruce Banister-Harding will be hanging up his running shoes after taking part in his last half-marathon on Sunday (March 28).
Mr Banister-Harding, owner of BK Heating, has run in eight races over the past four years, and has raised around £10,000 for local charities, mainly St Richard’s Hospice, Acorns Childrens Hospice and now the new Malvern hospital.
He said: "It started when the then-president of Rotary asked me to run a half-marathon to raise money. I agreed and the next year, the new president asked me again.
"It's been great fun, but I'm going to be 60 soon and I thought it was time to stop. I'd like to say thank-you to all my customers who put up with my begging letters and supported me over the years."
However, there is still time to sponsor him on Sunday's Forest of Dean Trails Half Marathon, which he is running to raise money for a portable ultrasound scanner for the new hospital.
To support him, call 01684 565812 or 561895.
