A BUSINESSWOMAN has shed four stone and hopes to loose another two – all in the name of charity and her mother.
Colette Hardiman, aged 42, from Hanley Swan, reached her weight loss goal two months early so she plans to keep going and lose more pounds.
Colette decided to be sponsored to raise the funds in memory of her mum, Vicky Herlihy, who was cared for by St Richard’s Hospice. She has already raised £600.
A combination of the Lighter Life diet programme and regularly working out at a gym along with Colette’s determination has led to success.
She said: “I had real withdrawal symptoms from eating normal food but lost 9lb in my first week and then I just felt great.
“My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer last January but sadly it had already spread by that time. Her GP put us in touch with St Richard’s who were incredible throughout.”
Mrs Herlihy had home visits and went into the hospice at Wildwood Drive for the final weeks of her life. She died in March.
