A COMPANY based near Malvern has launched a $100 million (dollars is correct) expedition to locate oil in the South Atlantic ocean, near the Falkland Islands.

Desire Petroleum, based at Mathon Court, was set up in 1996 by geologist and businessman Dr Colin Phipps, who died earlier this year.

Now the firm has just sent out an oil rig to the South Atlantic for a major exploratory venture.
