THE retiring editor of the Wells News was thanked by chairman of the parish council for 13-years of dedication.
Mike Jackson, aged 73, decided to step down after producing 26 editions of the bi-yearly newsletter for the people of Malvern Wells.
He was presented with a bottle of champagne by cllr Malcolm Victory on Wednesday.
He described the attribute of being “a nosey-parker” as being vital to the role, adding: “I wanted to know what was going on in the village. I was also a printer years ago so its remained an interest of mine.”
About 1,600 copies of the Wells News are produced in early July and early December each year.
The parish council will now be looking for a replacement editor. Mr Jackson, who now lives in Malvern Link, said the successful applicant should have a knowledge of printing and design as well as a good grasp of English.
Anyone interested in taking on the role can get in touch with the parish council clerk, Susan Hughes, on 01905 427190.
