IT will be a case of youth versus experience when 1st Malvern Wells Scouts are pitted against their leaders during an indoor half-marathon.
The young runners hope to earn their Fitness Challenge Award by taking on their elders and have already begun a strenuous training regime to get themselves in shape.
Scout leader Rebecca Baxter said: “Because we cannot guarantee the weather we thought it would be better indoors, so it’s all going to be done on treadmills at Malvern College’s new sports centre.”
The scouts will face stiff competition from their elders with leaders Henry Walker and Chris Knowles being well experienced at tests of endurance. Mr Walker has already taken part in Iron Man competitions - where competitors are required to run, cycle and swim their way to victory.
The group will also learn about living a healthy life-stye with information on diet and exercise being provided before their challenge begins.”
