ACTRESSES Belinda Lang and Kate O’Mara will add a glamorous touch to Friends of the Elderly's latest fundraising event for a new specialist dementia care home in Malvern.
The charity has set up the Peace of Mind Appeal to fund the building of the unit at its existing home at Davenham, Graham Road.
Belinda and Kate will be there when Friends of the Elderly hosts a private viewing of a stunning costume exhibition at Worcester Cathedral later this month.
The exhibition, Starstruck, will feature a dazzling array of up to 100 costumes worn by major stars in films, TV and theatre productions. These include costumes worn by Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley, Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Madonna, Cate Blanchett, Gwyneth Paltrow and Heath Ledger.
Tickets for the private view, on Thursday, August 20, are £35, to include a tour of the exhibition, canapés and wine.
The Peace of Mind Appeal will publically launch in October 2009 with a fundraising target of £500,000.
The charity received planning permission in September 2008 to build the 24-bed specialist residential care home.
