VISITING youngsters from Belarus have returned home after a four-week well-being holiday in Malvern.
The ten children were invited to Malvern by the charity Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline and stayed with host families enjoying good food, fresh air and a programme of day trips, barbecues and holiday activities.
One of the organisers of the visit, Jim Knights, said the children enjoyed a “wonderful holiday” and were returning home changed people.
“The trip is undoubtedly good for their overall health. The parents tell us each year that the children are changed by their visit. They went home bright, alert and happy and with a boost to their immune systems,” he added.
This year the visiting children enjoyed trips to the West Midlands Safari Park, the SeaLife Centre and were taken go-karting and on a boat trip on the River Severn.
Planning starts now to bring another group in 2010 and Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline have already signed up two host families for then.
