WALKERS will be taking to the Malvern Hills on Saturday (June 20) to raise money for equipment for the town’s long-awaited new hospital.
Malvern Rotary Club is organising the sponsored walk, which offers a choice of four or eight mile routes, and it is not too late to get involved.
Registration for both routes takes place at North Quarry between 9-10am tomorrow morning (Saturday).
Both routes will be marshalled by Rotary Club members, who are also in charge of marshalling a walk for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign taking place at the same time.
Ninety per cent of the profits from the Rotary walk will go to the new hospital, with the remaining 10 per cent for other Rotary charities.
One familiar face taking part will be Tory parliamentary candidate Harriett Baldwin.
She said: “I am excited about taking part in this sponsored walk across the Malverns.
“I have been really pleased by the generous response to sponsorship and hope to raise about £500 for additional equipment for the new hospital.”
Anyone who would like more information about the event should contact organiser Keith Clingan on 01684 891130 or keith@kclingan.freeserve.co.uk
