EYE-witness and fellow motorcyclist, Mark Brown, is well aware of the dangers posed by the poorly sighted junction on Wells Road.

Mr Brown attended to the Harley Davidson rider after he heard the crash from the front drive of his Malvern Wells home on Sunday (July 13).

"When I go out on my motorbike, I go the other way at the junction because you cannot see," he said, "It's an ongoing situation. Every once in a while they send out the token police lady with the speed gun but it's not a long term solution.

"Do we need a death before they do something?"

Mr Brown says his concerns are shared by other residents.

"There is one lady who lives around here who has been complaining about it for the past 15 years.

"Something needs to be done by the council in this area."

Mr Brown orchestrated a meeting between residents, Malvern Wells Parish Council and representatives from Worcestershire County Council's Highways Authority on Tuesday afternoon (July 15).

The group congregated at the scene of Sunday night's accident to discuss possible solutions to the traffic problems on the road.

Chairman of the parish council, Malcolm Victory, said the matter would be discussed at the next meeting of the council on Wednesday, August 13.

Paul Whittaker, a Worcestershire County Council spokesperson, said: "After speaking and obtaining information from residents we would look at the environment in the area to investigate if any more could be done to improve road safety."
