MALVERN has been praised for its economic strength in a report due to be handed to the Prime Minister.
The report, by the chairman of the Commission for Rural Communities, Dr Stuart Burgess, was a reponse to last year's flooding.
Dr Burgess was looking at ways of ways of strengthening rural economies, and he praised Malvern's entrepreneurial culture and economic diversity.
He said: "In my visits to rural areas, I am constantly reminded how enterprising people are and the diversity of successful firms and resilient communities we have.
"I visited Malvern and Worcestershire at the height of last year's unprecedented summer floods and saw for myself the devastating effect on individuals, communities and businesses. In my report I have recommended that rural development agencies be given the lead on handling the recovery of businesses from future similar emergencies."
