SIXTH Form students at Dyson Perrins High School have showcased their creative talents by creating two new stage shows from scratch.
The performing arts A-Level students recently unveiled The Titanic: The Sinking of the Unsinkable', based on historical events surrounding the ill-fated liner's only voyage, and Lucy in Wonderland', set in the swinging sixties and exploring the surreal and often harsh consequences of experimenting with illegal drugs.
Deputy headteacher Helena Arnold said both performances had proved extremely successful.
"A great deal of preparation went into writing and performing these two very engaging pieces of theatre," she said. "This particular course has enabled the students to showcase their talents not only in drama but also as musicians and dancers, and it was undoubtedly the combined impact of these elements that led to the success of the two performances."
