CHILDREN at Cradley Primary School enjoyed a fun-filled day learning how to be healthy.

The day consisted of a number of workshops that saw pupils discovering more about road safety, learining basic first aid, healthy eating, how to keep their hands clean, and exercising using skipping ropes.

Headteacher Dawn Hyett said: "Our Healthy School Day has become an annual event now and the children were buzzing. They didn't want to take their lunch break they were that enthralled.

"The first workshop taught then different skipping routines, while a road safety seminar enabled them to learn from a Herefordshire Council expert about how to stay safe on rural lanes.

"All of our staff are Heartstart members and so we have a number of resuscitation dummies here and as we as learning what to do with these, we also put students in the recovery position.

"As for healthy eating, they learned how to make a snack that is good for them and about vitamins and proteins. The final workshop taught them how germs spread on their hands and how to prevent this."
