THE annual Michaelmas fayre at Suckley Primary School was hailed a great success, raising nearly £1,000 for school funds.
Saturday's fayre attracted an estimated 200 people and attractions included the visit of two Shetland ponies.
As well as the apple bobbing and wet sponge-throwing challenges that feature every year, school children also had the opportunity to look at nature under the microscope, thanks to Trevor and Annette Smart from the Ravenshill Woodland Reserve, Lulsley.
Members of Alfrick Women's Institute also came along and displayed knitting and woodworking skills.
The village church played its part in housing the fayre's scarecrow competition entries, as well as exhibits of pupils' artwork and sculptures, all made from vegetables.
School head Sara James thanked the fayre's organisers, visitors and businesses which supported the event.
