STAFF at the Mount Pleasant Hotel in Malvern will be baking up a storm next week in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

From Monday, September 24, to Friday, the team at the Belle Vue Terrace Hotel is encouraging everyone to stop by for a free slice of cake, made by staff, with every hot drink ordered at the restaurant between 10am and noon.

There will also be a raffle, with prizes including a tour for two of the Morgan factory, gift vouchers for Cecily’s Beauty and Wellness and Beauty Spot salons, and Pershore Patty’s Worcestershire Foodie cards.

Spa consultant Kate Haynes will be offering a hand treatment and massage, in exchange for donations towards Macmillan.

Manager A J Bains has been supporting Macmillan since his grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and a Macmillan nurse took care of him in his last days.

He said: "We have set out this September to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, particularly the Macmillan professionals who work tirelessly and selflessly to comfort those in pain and their families. To us, nothing matters more this month."

Sarah Diston of Macmillan said: "All local Macmillan services are funded entirely by donations. Support from businesses such as the Mount Pleasant is therefore vital for us as a charity.

"The five-day coffee morning will enable us to continue supporting people living with cancer from the moment they are diagnosed and for that, we are incredibly grateful."
