WORK is under way on the town centre premises where restaurant chain Ask is planning to open up a new branch.

The company, which has some 200 branches across the UK, was granted planning permission last year to open at 6-8 Belle Vue Terrace.

The building has stood empty and boarded up for several months, but in the last few days, workmen have been busy renovating the structure. The site used to be occupied by an office supplies shop and other businesses, which have since relocated.

No-one from Ask was available for comment this week.
