SOPRANO Linda Tolchard will be giving a concert at Little Malvern Priory to raise funds for the restoration of the church's organ.

Called The Birds, the diverse programme will span classical Bach, Mozart and Elgar, to traditional Celtic Folk and contemporary pieces. She will be joined by musicians John Wilderspin, Tim Sidford, Malcolm Macleod and Catherine Handley.

The organ, made by William Hill of London, was originally installed in a private house in Malvern Wells and only later moved to the church.

Today, after 140 years of trouble-free service, the organ is now in need of skilled restoration.

The concert interval will be hosted in the Great Hall of Little Malvern Court by kind permission of Mrs A Berington, with canapes and a glass of wine.

The concert is on Tuesday, September 4, at 7pm, and tickets (£20 including refreshments) are available from Prue Edwards on 01684 591180.
