PROPOSALS to introduce clearer job titles for Malvern Hills District Council's senior officers will come up for discussion next week.
Coun Paul Tuthill, who was elected to the Link ward in May, wants the current titles dropped.
The council's six top officers, under the chief executive, are now the head of governance and democracy, head of community leadership and engagement, head of business transformation, head of sustainable environment, head of resources and head of service excellence.
Instead, Coun Tuthill wants them to be known as the heads of legal services, community services, human resources, planning, finance and operations.
His motion comes up before the executive committe on Tuesday, August 28. There is no recommendation, but the committee is urged to "formulate a response".
A report by chief executive Chris Bocock says there are risks in making the changes "which may have a significant impact on the council's reputation both locally and nationally".
He says they could, create problems "by alienation and demotivating some senior managers" and staff may think the council "lacks ambition and forward-thinking capability".
