MALVERN Hills District Council is working to provide accommodation to a homeless man living in a Malvern Wells bus shelter.
Last week, the parish council called on social services to come to the aid of the man, who has been living in the disused shelter on Wells Road for several months.
Cllr David Watkins, who is responsible for housing and communities on the district council, said: “Our housing officers have been working with a number of organisations to help this gentleman and we continue to liaise with him.
"We cannot discuss personal details surrounding his circumstances. However, in general we will always work with an individual to source temporary accommodation and where possible permanent accommodation.
"This can be a difficult task though, particularly if an individual does not want to take advantage of the help offered.
"The generosity of the public in providing food, clothing and other supplies to rough sleepers, while well intentioned, can also make it more difficult to encourage someone to take up offers of accommodation or help from the appropriate organisation.
"We will continue to monitor and work with all rough sleepers to deliver a positive solution.”
