A MAN in his 30s suffered 'serious pelvic injuries' after his car crashed down an embankment near Pendock.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle crash on the M50 between junctions 1 and 2 in the early hours of this morning (Monday, June 18).

A Fiat 500 left the westbound carriageway at approximately 12.50am.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with what are believed to be serious pelvic and abdominal injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance to the scene at 10.15am.

A spokesman for the service said: "The man was outside the vehicle on our arrival. He was treated for pelvic and abdominal injuries.

"He was fully conscious - he was given pain relief and immobilised. He was taken by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham."
