A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a crash with an unmarked police vehicle.
A 54-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries following the crash on the southbound A449 in Hartlebury on Monday.
The police vehicle was driven by an officer from West Mercia Police, who was responding to an emergency.
The officers involved received no injuries and were not required to go to hospital following the collision at 3.30pm.
Chief Inspector Sharon Cannings has confirmed the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
West Mercia Police has said it is unable to comment further at this time.
