RARE works of art that have been restored to their former glory are set to go on show at Malvern Library as part of a new exhibition.

Malvern through the Centuries will feature numerous paintings and prints tracking how Malvern has changed over the years from a village based around a Benedictine monastery to a thriving spa town.

Opening on Friday, June 1, the exhibition includes several pieces of artwork that have not been displayed in public for some time due to their poor condition. These have now been lovingly restored and reframed thanks to the Heritage Lottery-funded Great Malvern: Route to the Hills project.

Cllr David Watkins, portfolio holder for housing and communities on Malvern Hills District Council, said: “This exhibition not only features some beautiful pieces of artwork but offers a fascinating insight into how Malvern has changed over time.”

The exhibition is free to view during the library’s normal opening times.
