A PARROT who has been missing for almost a month was sighted in Malvern.

Bijou, the African Grey Parrot flew out of the back window of his home on Talavera Road, Norton in Worcester on Tuesday April 17 at around 3pm.

He was seen at The Downs School on Saturday April 28 by a matron who saw him on the roof.

The parrot has also been seen in the trees at Perdiswell Park on Tuesday May 1.

A Twitter account called @EmmaSearchForD1 has taken up the hunt, with retweets from SkySports News presenter Kirsty Gallacher, actor Gary Webster, former Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene and former Everton footballer Neville Southall.

Bijou is recognisable by his grey feathers and bright red tail feathers.

A friend of Bijou's owner posted on Facebook urging people in the Norton area to check their gardens and bushes as soon as they can. Bijou is very likely in the corner of someone’s garden.

The post said that he will be "very scared and cold as he isn’t used to the outside."

Bijou has been looked after by his current owners for 14 years.

If you find him, do not try and pick him up, throw a blanket over him or a net and call his owner on 07882721369
