STAFF at a clothes shop in the centre of Great Malvern have handed over a cheque to a favourite town-based charity.

Both Malvern Special Families and the clothing chain Fatface celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, so workers at the shop's Church Street branch decided to support the cause.

The money was raised as a result of the retailer’s Thanks for Giving charity scheme, which saw Fatface shops across the UK host fundraisers for their chosen local charity.

Staff at the Malvern Fatface hosted a series of fundraisers in-store, including tombolas, raffles, bake sales and colouring competitions. Now they have presented £301.96 to Malvern Special Families.

Cassie Zoro, Malvern Special Families community fundraiser, said: “Thank you so much to the staff at Fatface, who have really thrown themselves into fundraising for Malvern Special Families this year.

"A big thank you to all the shoppers who took part in the fundraising events in the Fatface store. The money raised will help our small charity to continue to provide fun activities for local children with disabilities.”

Store manager Yasemin Prvulj-Smith said: “We are committed to making a difference to local people through the Fatface Thanks for Giving campaign.

"We really enjoy fundraising for Malvern Special Families - we are proud to be able to support the good work they do providing clubs and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities.”
