AN unusual gift will soon be on its way from Malvern Library to the library of Mariánské Lázně, Malvern's Czech partner town.
A framed jigsaw of Great Malvern Railway Station by the acclaimed railway artist Eric Bottomley, who lives at Much Marcle, is being given as a gift to Czech colleagues.
Cllr Ian Hopwood, chairman of Malvern Community Partnership, said the exchange of gifts between towns sometimes means that they end up in cabinets away from public view.
"By giving library to library, we know that citizens of both towns will see be able to see this highly-regarded portrayal of Malvern in the age of steam".
Malvern's mayor Cynthia Palmer will be attending the presentation in Mariánské Lázně during the opening of the spa season there next month.
Meanwhile, it will be on display in Malvern Library, Graham Road, until the end of the first week in May.
