A NEW work by a Malvern-based composer will be getting its first performance at the town's priory next month.
Pier Maxim's A Festival Anthem - De Profundis is on the programme when the Elgar Chorale presents Psalmfest on Saturday, March 10.
Psalmfest is a concert inspired by the Psalms of David, which features John Rutter’s work of the same name, plus music from British composers of the last 100 years, including Elgar, Wesley, Howells, Vaughan Williams and Berkeley
Mr Maxim is the musical director both of the Elgar Chorale and of the Priory itself.
Professional soloists Aine Smith, James Atherton and Alan Fairs join the choir and Peter Shepherd is the organist.
Tickets at £12 (£5 students) are available on-line at elgarchorale.com, from the priory bookshop, on 01684 594570 or on the door.
