A YOUTH theatre group is making a final call for actors to appear in its summer production, which is already down to go to the Edinburgh Festival.

Malvern Theatres Young Company will be performing Antigone, by the ancient Greek dramatist Sophocles,

The auditions are on Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27, at Malvern Theatres and are open to everyone aged 16 and over.

Auditions for the theatre’s advanced course in drama and performance for professional theatre will also take place at the same time.

Malvern Theatres chief executive Nic Lloyd said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young adults to take the next step on the way to working in theatre.

“Despite only being in its second year, our advanced course is already highly-esteemed by industry professionals, as is our Young Company.

“Successful Young Company auditionees will get to experience working on a professional production, including facing the challenges of touring, as well as the thrill of performing at the world’s greatest arts festival.”

This year’s Young Company production is Antigone, which will run at Malvern Theatres on August 8 to 10, before transferring to Edinburgh.

The advanced course will be taught by leading actors and theatre practitioners.
