A FORMER veterinary centre could be turned into a funeral home.
Matthew Jackson, head of Jackson Family Funeral Directors, has applied for permission to turn the closed vets, in Hanley Road, Upton, into a funeral parlour.
Mr Jackson, aged 30, also wants to remove one of the internal walls of the property.
The Avenue Veterinary Centre branch opened in January 2016 but closed down on Friday, May 12, last year.
The site shut because it could not find a replacement for a full-time veterinary surgeon, who was going on maternity leave.
A spokesman for the company previously said: "Having the right team of vets, veterinary nurses and administration staff is crucial for us, in order to provide the exceptional care and attention that you and your pet deserve and receive."
The building in Upton was occupied by Serenity Spa before it became a vets.
Avenue Veterinary Centre still runs a branch in Avenue Road, Malvern.
