THE Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets branch is looking to expand its membership.
The group, which currently comprises 50 cadets aged 10 to 18, teaches young people skills such as kayaking and engineering, and also gives them the opportunity to gain qualifications like BTECS.
Based at Park Farm Industrial Estate in Redditch, the unit has been awarded Burgee status by the Royal Navy - the highest possible award in recognition of the team's hard work.
Commanding officer, Sub Lieutenant JAmes Sanders RNR, said: "2017 was another great year. We had three cadets go overseas, our cadets gained 70 hours on the water on average, and our cadets have gained hundreds of qualifications.
"It would be great to see more young people with us to help grow our team."
Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets, which parades every Monday and Thursday from 6.45pm to 9.15pm, is recruiting members aged between 12 and 18.
