A TEACHER at Madresfield Primary School is hoping to create a new forest school in the school's grounds.

Jacki George is the lead forest school teacher at the village school, and for the last 12 months, she has been taking the children to Madresfield Court’s grounds for their forest school sessions.

She said: "We are very grateful to the court and we have thoroughly enjoyed using their site, but we would like to create a site on our school grounds. This is due to toilet accessibility and the need to cross quite a busy road.

"I’ve organised funding through Waitrose Community Matters and would love to promote our potential new site and see if anybody would like to help us develop it too. Currently, it’s a little bit of land with a pond in it."

Forest School is a specialised learning approach, that offers pupils learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment.

Anyone who wants to help her develop a forest school on the site can contact the school.
