A WELL-known and popular resident of Upper Colwall has died at the age of 96.
John Richardson was born at Naini Tal in India, and later served in the army during the Second World War.
He subsequently spent time working in both India and Canada, ultimately working for a dental export company in Weybridge before retirement to Colwall, where he lived in Walwyn Road.
Mr Richardson was a much-loved husband of Anne Richardson and father to Fiona and Diana, as well as grandfather to Olivia.
Daughter Diana Nisbet said: ""He was a brave, independent, charming gentleman and a great character. He was very popular and well known in Malvern and Colwall. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends."
The funeral will take place at Worcester Crematorium and then St James's Church in Colwall on Thursday, November 23.
