HUNDREDS turned out in Malvern on Sunday to take part in the Remembrance Sunday ceremonies in the centre of the town.
Representatives from the armed forces, uniformed youth groups, emergency services, local government and other bodies, assembled in Graham Road shortly before 2pm to march to the war memorial in the library grounds.
The service was led this year by clergy from the town's Methodist churches and included the last post, the one-minute silence and reveille, before wreaths were laid on the memorial.
The parade, led by Malvern Hills District Brass Band, then marched to Great Malvern Priory for the service of remembrance.
Among those taking part was Surgeon Commodore Peter Buxton, the medical director general of the Royal Navy, who is from the Malvern area.
After the service, the parade marched down Church Street where mayor Cynthia Palmer, took the salute.
Some 400 members of Malvern youth groups were among those who took part in the parade.
Malvern College held its own remembrance ceremony, with staff and pupils paying tribute to Old Malvernians who served and sacrificed in the armed forces.
On Saturday, which was Armistice Day itself, a short service was held at 11am at the war memorial in Great Malvern Priory.
