VOCAL group Serenata will be performing in Malvern at the weekend to raise money for a town-based charity.

The musical fundraiser is being held in aid of Malvern Special Families as part of the charity’s 30th birthday celebrations.

The concert, entitled Landscapes and Harvest, takes place on Saturday, St Peter’s Church, Cowleigh Bank, and the programme includes music and readings celebrating autumn’s bounty.

The lively and light-hearted concert offers a range of music from traditional folk songs to the Beatles and includes works by local composers Liz Johnson and Alec Roth.

Sarah Musgrave, a trustee of Malvern Special Families, said: “Please join us for a fantastic evening of entertainment and help raise us raise money for a really good cause. It would be brilliant to see lots of people from the local community come along and support Malvern Special Families.”

Bella Johnson, a member of Serenata, said: “We always enjoy putting on concerts, especially when we can help to support local charities like Malvern Special Families which provides excellent play schemes for local children with disabilities. Our audiences can look forward to a very welcoming atmosphere and some choice entertainment including timeless favourites.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door, £10 adult and £3 per child. There will be a raffle and refreshments available on the night with all proceeds going to the charity.
