HORTICULTURAL handiwork from residents and businesses impressed judges in this year's Malvern in Bloom competition.
Beautiful blooms were in abundance as judges David Franks and Eddie Lolley made their way through the town, on Monday.
Jules Jack, of Oxford Road scooped joint first prize in the residents category, with his blossoming town centre garden.
"I've only got a 10 foot square patch of land, but I've filled it with pots and baskets," said Mr Jack.
"I'm really chuffed to win, I think gardening is quite theraputic, and I like leaving the door open, and enjoying the garden."
Fellow winner Edwin Jones, from Lygon Bank, also impressed judges with his colourful planting.
"I do like doing the garden, it's my full-time hobby, everyone's got to have a hobby haven't they," he said.
Anne Twigg, of Malvern Link hairdressers Annabel's, which won the smaller business category, said: "We always plant out hanging baskets, it makes it look nice for customers and the public.
"If they raise a smile from people, that's the most important thing."
MSM and DRH on Spring Lane won the larger business award and the Nag's Head scooped the licensed premises title.
Judge David Franks said: "The standard for all the people who took part was incredibly good, they really have made an effort."
Winners were due to receive awards at a ceremony today, and all entrants will be given a certificate.
