A 12-hour Classathon and music night held at Malvern St James Sports and Fitness Centre has raised over £1,300 for the British Heart Foundation.

The classes, which ranged from yoga to boot camp, were aimed to suit all ages and abilities and those taking part were encouraged to wear something red.

In the evening, local acts Vo Fletcher, Ruben Seabright, Kim Rydr and Jenny Hallam all gave their time and musical talent for free, followed by an auction with businesses donating prizes in support of the charity.

British Heart Foundation volunteer Dave Hall from Malvern who helped organise the event said he was thrilled with the total of £1,305.

He said: “In particular I want to thank Malvern St James manager Simon Vaughan and his team who have supported the foundation for several years now, organising similar events.

"As a heart patient myself I know how important these fundraising events are for vital research into heart disease. I would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who supported us on the day."
