A MALVERN woman is looking for support as she prepares to visit Uganda with the charity Voluntary Service Overseas.

Hannah Kettles of Oak Crescent, needs to raise £800 to make the trip possible, and has already raised some money with a sponsored attempt to live on £5 a day.

And on Monday, August 21, who will be doing a sponsored walks on the Malvern Hills of 12km, the distance that some poor people in Uganda have to walk to fetch water each day.

She said: "As well as sponsorship, I would be more than appreciative for people to join me if they fancy a challenge.

"I am also going to be doing a bake sale in my work place towards the end of the month, in which all donations go to justgiving.com/Hannah-Marie95."

Miss Kettles, who just graduated from university and now works for a charity, said: "While I am away, I will be missing my 22nd birthday, and my graduation ceremony, but I could not miss an opportunity like this!

"I will be in a team of people running a start-up project, which could be in health, education or livelihood. While I am there I will be living with a host family, and immersing myself in their culture, lifestyle and community.

"I like to make a difference to people, supporting them to achieve a better quality of life, so I thought my skills and outlook could be used by those much less fortunate, in many ways, than ourselves."
