MALVERN popstar Cher Lloyd is celebrating her birthday today.

And while it seems like a lifetime ago that she made her breakthrough on the X Factor, Cher is still only 24-years-old.

The singer and rapper, who grew up in Malvern and attended the Chase School and Dyson Perrins CE Academy, became a superstar almost overnight after reaching the final of the TV talent show back in 2010.

She has since gone on to release a string of hit albums and singles, including her debut release Swagger Jagger which shot to the top of the UK singles chart when released in 2011.

While her rise to stardom was rapid it should perhaps have come as no surprise – she was always aiming for the top, reaching the finals of the 'Chase Factor' talent show at the Chase as far back as 2005.

It's been a while since we heard new music from Cher – her last album was 2014's Sorry I'm Late, while 2016's Activated was her last single release.

But with a new record deal under her belt with i.e.music, we're expecting to be hearing much more from her soon.
