A GRAFFITI vandal has gone on a ‘tagging’ spree in Worcester, leaving a trail of destruction behind.

The vandal sprayed the tag ‘FBS’ on the wall of a retirement home and also on to the side of a menswear shop, this weekend.

The letters ‘FBS’ were sprayed onto nine brick pillars outside St Oswald’s Hospital Almshouses and Chaplain’s House, in St Oswald’s Road, Worcester.

The vandal also sprayed the signature onto a wall next to Armstrongs of Worcester menswear shop, in Sansome Walk, on Saturday night.

Joy Squires, city councillor for the Arboretum ward, said: “I’m horrified to hear that St Oswald’s has been the target of vandalism.

“Very elderly and frail people live here and it will be a huge concern to them that their property is being targeted in this way.

“I call on anyone with information to let the authorities know.”

Cllr Squires said she would report the incident to the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust, a charity which cleans up graffiti.

Laurie Parker, aged 58, a local resident, said: “I was appalled by it.

“It’s totally mindless. It’s lovely brickwork that will be difficult to clean.

“There’s three letters. It’s his signature ‘FBS’. F for Freddy, B for buffoon, and S for stupid. I think the graffiti community know who this guy is.”

Mr Parker said he saw the graffiti in St Oswald’s Road on Sunday evening and claims it was not there on Saturday night.

“It’s the first time it’s happened in the street, that I know of. That’s why it’s shocking. I think he did the box and the almshouse at the same time,” Mr Parker said.

The incident has not yet been reported to police, however anyone with information on the culprit should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
