THE Beauchamp Community at Newland will be opening its gates to the public tomorrow (Saturday) for its annual fete.
The community and the Church of St Leonards were completed in 1864 for retired workers from the Madresfield estate and the poor of the parish. It is currently home to 49 residents.
The fete is a joint venture between the community and Save the Children, with proceeds being split between them.
It runs from noon to 3pm and among the attractions are a brass band, ukulele band, ferret racing, martial arts display, bowl for a pig and a school choir.
In the evening, there will be an organ recital in the church with Roy Massey, the former organist of Hereford Cathedral.
Money raised will be used to help fund the restoration of the church.
