CYCLISTS in Malvern are being urged to get their bikes marked with a special security code
The district council has organised a free Dr Bike event on Wednesday, June 14, from 10am to 12.30pm, at the Council Chamber, Avenue Road..
The event aims to help prevent bike loss or theft by offering protection with unique security markings that ensures police will be able to trace a bike back if it is stolen and recovered.
There will also be free tests on offer to ensure that bikes are safe to ride.
Rachel Vann, health and wellbeing officer at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “This event is a great opportunity for residents to protect their bike and make sure it is in perfect working order ready for those summer outings.
"Bike mechanics will check brakes, tyres, gears and the general safety of the bike. They will also be on hand to give advice and it is all free, so I would highly recommend anyone to pop along with their bike.”
