THE owner of a garden in Malvern will be throwing open the gate all day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29.

The garden at Rothbury, 5 St Peter's Road, will open from 8.30am so visitors can enjoy a continental breakfast in beautiful surroundings.

Owner Philippa Lowe said: "We wanted to do something a bit different. This weekend is the 90th anniversary of the National Garden Scheme which raises millions of pounds each year for nursing and caring charities.

"We often enjoy our breakfast outside in spring and summer, so we thought we'd offer others the chance to share the experience.'

For those who would prefer a later start to their Bank Holiday, filled rolls, homemade cakes and cream teas will be available throughout the day.

The garden will be open until 5pm. Entry is £3 for adults and free for children. All proceeds will go to charities including Macmillan, Hospice UK and Carers Trust.
