WOMEN are being encouraged to set the wheels in motion and join a new women’s cycling initiative to get them from couch to 50k.

The social cycling group for beginners starts on Tuesday, May, 2 at 6.30pm at Sport Dyson Perrins, Malvern.

The initiative has been set up by the district council, and aims to help people improve fitness and well-being.

The programme will incorporate cycling proficiency to help build confidence on the road and improve cycle skills. Instructor Rachel Vann will also be providing advice and support to help people progress to an improved level of fitness.

The programme will run for ten weeks and costs £20 per person. Rachel said: “This course is perfect for a cycling novice and I’m really looking forward to getting started and meeting new people.

“It is a great programme for women who would like to get back into cycling or get into cycling for the first time, it also gives the opportunity to meet new people and feel good”.
